CMCX 2023 Review & Insights: We don’t have to be superhumans

This year’s CMCX took place in Cologne from June 13-14. Evernine was there as an exhibitor and CEO Alexander Roth as a speaker on both conference days. What topics were on the minds of the marketers and how content has to be thought of today under the influence of tools & tech – here are the insights of CMCX 2023.

2 day CMCX – Content Marketing Conference & Exposition – and Evernine was there as an exhibitor in Cologne. Our summary? The content marketing conference has undergone a fascinating evolution in recent years. In the past, the focus was mainly on content with a PR approach, while today the influence of tools and technologies on content is increasing. René Kühn and his team managed to organize an excellent program with deep dives & B2B focus in a very atmospheric location.

CMCX impressed again this year with an impressive list of top-class speakers who shared their expertise in different areas of content marketing with the audience.

Services in demand in the area of “Trust & Reputation”

Evernine Group was part of this event with CEO Alexander Roth as speaker, which was quite the opposite of a “mass event” with about 1,000 participants, the perfect size to learn new things, make business contacts and also celebrate a little 🍻. Professional and intelligent communication remains the driving factor for business in the present and future.

With his know-how and many years of experience, Alexander Roth spoke on the second day of the trade fair on the topic of “The new possibilities of content hubs – How to lead marketing & PR into the future in a results-oriented way”. Here he showed how companies can structure themselves well and position themselves successfully even in times of AI & increasing challenges and campaigns & brand communication. A topic that also went down well with the audience. Are you interested in the presentation? You can download the Insight directly via this link..

Even so, it was exciting to see that we are ahead with the services we offer. The visitors found our services in the area of “Trust & Reputation” the most exciting. Brand, loyalty, content & social marketing – the keywords when it comes to branding. There were inquiries in the direction of thought leadership and which digital measures from product & loyalty marketing were the right ones to bring one’s own blog, social media channels or the freshly implemented content hub to the next level.

The Key Takeaways from CMCX 2023

This combination of branding, storytelling and emotions on the one hand and AI, new workflows and fast mass production on the other – a kind of industrialization of content and marketing – creates an interesting field of tension that inspired us a lot.

Whether medium-sized business marketing, communication in healthcare, corporate sustainability or content marketing for gold – there were again many exciting cases!

The themes we picked up from CMCX:

➡️ AI enables us to generate content faster.
➡️ New workflows and focus are emerging to meet the need for tools to organize large volumes of content.
➡️ There are still many unanswered questions around AI, such as accuracy of results, legal and performance issues, and content uniqueness.
➡️ The brand, its story and its content remain critical, regardless of MarTech and ChatGPT.
➡️ Emotion and clear brand alignment are important and also influence the use of AI.
➡️ We don’t have to become superhumans to keep up with machines.
➡️ It’s about turning to our human capabilities such as creativity, empathy, courage and confidence and combining them with technology.
➡️ Teamwork becomes even more important, different teamwork styles were discussed, e.g. busy worker bees or strategically intelligent dolphins.

Thank you and see you next time
