Communication in everyday corporate life – today you can no longer do without it. But how do German companies actually communicate and which channels do they use for their internal and external communication? The industry association bitkom examined 1,106 companies with 20 or more employees in Germany and came to the following conclusion.

The recently published Bitkom Digital Office Index 2018 shows that the fixed-line telephone and e-mail are the two communication channels most frequently used by German companies. The fax machine is clearly on the downward trend: 62 percent of the 1,106 companies surveyed still use it (very) frequently for internal or external communication – two years ago it was 17 percentage points more. After all, in comparison with Messengers or social networks, the fax is still doing quite well.
