Technology and fitness are an unbeatable team! This is what we were able to experience at the 57th Internationale Funkausstellung in Berlin. Whether tracking your heart rate during a workout or determining the optimum time to wake up – the perfect technology makes this possible and gains increasing influence in the field of fitness & health. Further the gadgets are getting more and more functional. Evernine took a closer look at the most exciting products.

Nowadays fitness trackers are nothing special anymore, that’s why producers count on new and complex functionalities. Thanks to the up to 50 m waterproof housing, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro for example can be also used during swim training. The highlight of this tracker is the function to recognize automatically which kind of sports the wearer’s practicing. The producers Fitbit and Garmin even added a NFC chip to their fitness trackers so they can be used for cashless payment.

For those who feel bored by the standard fitness trackers, Jabra Elite Sport has a top-class alternative. The true wireless bluetooth headphones have been optimized especially for fitness applications. They have a recharge time of 13.5 hours and a waterproof surface, so the headphones are suitable for extended workouts even outside when it’s raining. Tracking is possible as well, the headphones are equipped with sensors for pulse and activity measurement. The collected data is saved in the corresponding app and processed graphically. Good sound combined with fitness tracking – a must have for every single (amateur) athlete.

But regardless whether smartwatch, fitness tracker or high tech headphones – The field of fitness & activity at the IFA is getting more and more important as a business platform for wearables. This year too, there could be set new priorities in terms of the latest developments in the field of digital fitness products.
